Two Babylon School District students were recognized in the New York State Art Teachers Association (NYSATA) Youth Art Month Flag Design Contest. Their flag design submissions were selected among 2,440 from across New York State.

Babylon Junior-Senior High School sophomore Olivia Gavin, and freshman Olivia Lee received special recognition for their outstanding designs. This year’s contest theme was Healing Through Color. Gavin’s fine arts teacher is Cheryl Schweider and Lee’s teacher is Patricia Stork.

“This recognition is a huge demonstration of the incredible talent and creativity of our students who are continuously evolving as artists thanks to the significant support of their art teachers,” said art teacher and Fine Art Director, Cheryl Schweider. “Congratulations to Olivia G, and Olivia L! They created beautiful pieces of art and this recognition is truly well deserved.”
