Voter Information

Voter Registration and General Information:


The Babylon UFSD Budget Vote and Trustee Election will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Babylon Junior-Senior High School East Gymnasium, located at 50 Railroad Avenue, Babylon, NY 11702.

A Public Hearing on the Proposed 2025-2026 Budget will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 7:30 p.m at the regular Board Meeting.

 

Nominating Petitions:


There will be two (2) open seats on the Board of Education this year. The two (2) candidates with the highest vote counts will be elected as members of the Board of Education for a three (3) year term commencing on July 1, 2025 and expiring on June 30, 2028. Candidates will be running for vacant seats on an at-large basis (i.e. not for a specific vacancy).

Candidate packets are available beginning Monday, February 24, 2025 in the Office of the District Clerk, 50 Railroad Avenue, Babylon, NY. Completed nominating petitions must be returned to the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025.

 

Voter Registration:


To vote on the proposed 2025-2026 school budget and Board of Education election, you must be:

  • A citizen of the United States;
  • 18 years of age or older;
  • A resident of the Babylon School District for at least 30 days prior to the voting date;
  • Registered to vote with either the school district or Suffolk County Board of Elections.

Continuous voter registration is available in the Office of the District Clerk from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, when school is in session, up to and including May 15, 2025. Registration for new residents, residents who have moved within the district, and residents who have not voted in the last four years can register at the Office of the District Clerk or with Suffolk County Board of Elections.

Absentee Ballot and Early Mail Ballot Applications: 

 

Applications for absentee ballots and early mail ballots are obtainable during school business hours through the Office of the District Clerk or by clicking on the absentee or early mail application below. Completed applications may not be received by the District Clerk earlier than April 21, 2025 and must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election, if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter, or to the agent named in the application.

Absentee Ballot Deadline:


No absentee voter’s ballot will be counted unless it is received in the Office of the District Clerk, 50 Railroad Avenue, Babylon, NY 11702 by 5:00 p.m. on the day of the election, Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
