Babylon Talks is the district's online tool for reporting concerns and sharing feedback. Reports are sent to school and district administrators so they can respond quickly and appropriately.

If you believe this incident is an emergency or could cause immediate harm to yourself or others and needs immediate attention, please call 911.

Before You Report:

The Babylon Union Free School District (“District”) is committed to providing an educational and working environment that promotes respect, dignity and equality, and one that is free from all forms of bullying, harassment or discrimination. The District strongly encourages reporting of any concern or suspicion of bullying, harassment (including sexual harassment) or discrimination, or of boundary violations prohibited by District Policy 9150 – Appropriate Adult-Student Interactions. Although it can be difficult to step forward, reporting concerns is important to ensure a school environment is free of bullying, harassment, discrimination and/or improper conduct. The Board of Education and District leadership are committed to fostering a culture of transparency and accountability, in which information-sharing and reporting are valued and critical acts that create a safe and supportive school environment for all. The Board of Education and District leadership are committed to ensuring that all reports are taken seriously and addressed in a manner consistent with applicable law and District policies and regulations.

If you believe you have been a target of bullying, harassment (including sexual harassment) or discrimination by any student, employee and/or volunteer, or if you are a relative of a target or otherwise a witness to concerning conduct, and wish to report an incident of alleged bullying, harassment or discrimination, please complete this form. This form may also be used to report violations of District Policy 9150 – Appropriate Adult-Student Interactions, including boundary crossing by employees and/or volunteers towards students, and retaliation.

Reports submitted utilizing this form will be directed to a Building-Level Administrator designated as the building-level Dignity Act Coordinator (“DAC”) and/or the District’s Central Office Administration team based on the school or building in which the target is enrolled or employed, as outlined below:

Babylon Elementary School: Principal
Babylon Memorial Grade School: Principal
Babylon Jr.-Sr. High School: Principal, Assistant Principal, Director of Student Success
District-Wide/Unspecified: Districtwide Dignity Act Coordinator

The Superintendent, Districtwide DAC, and the District’s Title IX Coordinator will receive a copy of all reports to ensure appropriate monitoring of responses. Reports regarding employee conduct towards students will be addressed by the Districtwide DAC and/or the District’s Title IX Coordinator, regardless of the method through which the report was submitted.

If you provide a contact email, reporters will receive confirmation of their submission and can expect follow-up contact from a member of our administrative team as outlined above. If the reporter is not the individual experiencing the conduct, the individual experiencing the conduct will also be contacted. Follow-up contact with the individual alleged to be experiencing the conduct regarding the report, including information regarding applicable District procedures and the availability of supportive measures will generally be made within two school days.

The details of any report and the identities of the target and any person(s) against whom a complaint is made, will be protected to the extent possible under the law and District policy. Concerns about confidentiality can be discussed with the District’s Title IX Coordinator or the Districtwide DAC, whose contact information can be found at: Bullying, Harassment, Discrimination, Title IX and DASA

Supportive measures may also be available to individuals who have experienced bullying, harassment, discrimination and/or boundary violations. Supportive measures can include counseling, schedule changes, additional supervision, changes in work location or procedures, assignment, and other measures. Supportive measures will be discussed during the initial follow-up contact described above, or shortly thereafter, depending on the specific circumstances presented.

Retaliation is prohibited against anyone who submits a report or participates in an investigation. Retaliation should be reported by using this form or making a verbal or written report to the District Title IX Coordinator or any District DAC. Contact information for those individuals can be found at Bullying, Harassment, Discrimination, Title IX and DASA. Reports of retaliation will be investigated and individuals found to have engaged in retaliation will face discipline.

Reports may be made anonymously. When you submit this form, it will not automatically collect your details like name and email address unless you provide them yourself. However, individuals who do not provide an email address or name will not receive follow-up contact or additional information regarding the District’s processes, procedures and potential supports. Anonymous reports may also limit the District’s ability to investigate and/or respond.
